Many military spouses are affected in their career development and advancement because of the necessity to move frequently and to relocate at each move. This is one of the serious problems. In appreciation of this problem and the necessity to provide military spouses with education and certification that could enable them to pursue their careers, the US Department of Defense has created a program called Military Spouse Career Advancement Account, which is known as the MyCAA program. This program is designed to provide education, financial assistance and help in employment for the spouses of both active military personnel and reserve personnel recalled to active duty. This is one of the most important program implemented by US Department of Defense.

More details regarding this are as the following,

Spouses of military personnel in specified pay grades (E1-E5, W1-W2 and O1-O2) can pursue a degree or certification programs and will be entitled to a maximum of $4000 by way of financial assistance. These will be applicable to portable careers for which there is high employment demand so that employment opportunities are readily available. Examples of portable careers include Health and Hospitality management, financial services, information technology and so on. Other courses that are encouraged include education and business management programs. Spouses who are

Last week I was at a presentation by Bank of Hawaii, and they got me thinking. The military and federal government combined in our state is holding up the entire economy on the Island of Oahu. Military construction has not receded, it continues. They are in the process of building housing on Oahu, 10,000 homes by Actus and an additional 4,500 homes over the next few years as replacements for military personnel. There are 102,000 people with the military, mostly based on the Island of Oahu. The military has 18,000 direct jobs that we know of and spending approximately $1 billion/year.

In addition to this, the Department of Defense spends $6.1 billion per year. There is quite a bit of high-tech investment and spending at the Barking Sands project. The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyards account for a massive amount of spending on Oahu. The Navy has increased the number of jets that it houses and continues to upgrade its fleet here in Hawaii.

Today I noticed eight additional submarines are being repositioned to bases here in Hawaii over the current 24-month period. Military spending is 23% of our overall economy, while tourism, which we all think of as the leader, is just a little bit higher at 30%.

In addition to military spending, Hawaii has one of the highest spending per capita ratios of any state. This is courtesy of our senior senators, the committees, and the

The nation of China is one of the world’s oldest civilizations and its history is as diverse as it is long. There are hundreds of dialects, traditions, and beliefs that a population in an excess of over a billion share. Needless to say China doesn’t just have one martial art despite attempts by the Chinese government to nationalize martial art arts.

Because of China’s rich martial arts heritage the government and China’s military did not need to create a style of hand to hand combat from scratch, but rather formalize one of China’s many native fighting methods. While many forms of Kung Fu have been turned into performance art San Shou or Sanshou still keeps the combat in combat martial arts, and can easily turn deadly.

In competition San Shou a variety of techniques can be used by fighters, but while early matches were barehanded with few safety precautions in today’s matches athletes use a host of protective equipment though there are some exceptions. A fighter may punch or kick an opponent’s legs, head, and body to score points, and sometimes knee strikes are allowed if the rule set referred to as “San Da” is in use. Throws and takedowns are another way to score points, and Judo and wrestling throws can be used in matches. Competitions can be held in either in boxing ring or on the traditional lei tai a raised platform where it is actually possible to knock

Understanding the uses of different Airsoft guns in military and law enforcement training. Explains the realistic scenarios used by military and law enforcement to increase the efficiency of their training.

Contrary to popular belief, Airsoft is not limited to game play and war reenactments. For many years now both law enforcement and military branches have used a variety of Airsoft guns to practice for emergency situations and train in realistic scenarios. Using Airsoft pistols in these situations allows for mistakes, corrections and necessary learning experiences for policemen and military personnel without the loss of life.

Airsoft blowback pistols are often used by policemen and law enforcement for practice as they match the dimensions and weight of the actual pistols used. In these scenarios, the policemen and women, and military personnel, have the opportunity to practice, test and evaluate their tactics, equipment, and physical and mental capabilities in a realistic and safe training situation.

The drills they practice involve engaging targets – as they would in a real situation – that may react and shoot or fight back. Training in such a realistically simulated environment allows those in law enforcement to be prepared so they react without hesitation, doubt or mistakes.

In an environment where law enforcement increasingly deals with violent crime and national security, it has become crucial for each officer to demonstrate proficiency and competency with regards to their weapons handling and situation control, and Airsoft presents a

Due to the political situation, Israel did not have the luxury of six-month boot camp for its young soldiers, who were literally conscripted and sent to fight. Because of this situation, the Israeli military needed an effective hand to hand combat system that could be learned very quickly, was easy to retain, and very effective. This was the birth of Krav Maga in Israel in the military setting. It became the official combative training for all military personnel, Israeli police and security forces. Since then it has been studied, tested, improved and developed extensively so that now these techniques are applied in areas such as law enforcement, elite military units, VIP protection and civilian self defense programs for men, women and children. Law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, CIA, ATF and police departments all over the world use Krav Maga as their self defense system of choice.

The technique is based on mind and mental force no matter what physical strength you have and is one of the few fighting styles in the world which adapts to the student rather than expecting the student to adapt to it, teaching students to build on their natural reflexes. Krav Maga are teaches the student personal awareness, confidence, self-control, movement and because physical fitness is closely interwoven into the system, the workout includes a number of cardiovascular and

The rendering of military funeral honors is a way to show the nation’s deep gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our country. This ceremonial paying of respect is the final demonstration a grateful nation can provide to the veterans’ families. While these honors have always been provided whenever possible, the law now mandates the rendering of Military Funeral Honors for an eligible veteran if requested by the family.

What happens at a Military Funeral Honors ceremony?

The Department of Defense will provide an honor guard, consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces, for the ceremony. At least one member of the detail will be a member of the branch in which the veteran served. During the ceremony, the honor guard will fold and present the United States flag to the veteran’s family. Taps will be played by a bugler, if available, or by a recording. Depending on the branch of service, additional elements may be added. A local Veterans Service Organization (VSO) may also participate in the ceremony, providing a firing party, for example. Richard Lamb Funeral Service staff can assist you in making arrangements with the Department of Defense and a local VSO, if available.

Who is eligible for Military Funeral Honors?

To demonstrate eligibility, the family must provide a

Self defense methods and techniques continue to update or progress since criminals are also getting smarter. In the past, you could only defend yourself from an attacker through the use of physical force. Thanks to technology and modern science, different self defense ways have been created. Although some old methods may still be useful up to this very day, such as the use of martial arts and other physical combat methods, there are new ways to protect your self which are easier and requires less effort. Among the most popular self defense methods employed today is the use of stun guns and taser guns.

It is a fact that both taser guns and stun guns have been created several years ago and they may not be considered new but there are new models released recently. These weapons have undergone a lot of modifications in a move to make them more efficient, safe, and easy to use. When it was first created, taser guns were only used by military and policemen. As the years passed, several models have been released including ones that could be used by civilians. These self defense weapons have even become fashionable since they come in different colors and different designs.

Taser guns and stun guns should not be mistaken for the other. Although the process that is being employed in both weapons is similar, they are actually different. Stun guns are known to be self

I. RFID Advantages

Radio Frequency Identification provides a valuable service that is capable of revolutionizing the way companies track products. There are many benefactors of this technology: the military, retailers, suppliers, consulting firms, producers of the technology, and consumers. RFID provides companies with a better alternative to bar-coding because no line-of-sight is needed to read a pallet, a carton, or a product with a RFID tag. RFID tags also contain information on the product that is easily readable and accessible for the reader. RFID will also begin to automate company’s supply chain, reducing labor costs, human error and time spent checking in products.

In 2005, manufacturers and suppliers requesting new bids from the military must be RFID compliant on four different levels: packaged operational rations, clothing, tools, and weapon system repair parts and components. The military requires that all cartons and pallets are shipped with a Military Shipping Label which displays shipping data. The Department of Defense has created the RFID Military Compliance Solution as a way to help suppliers and manufacturers meet the military’s new standards for RFID. The program is run by Avery Dennison Retail Information Services, and they were commissioned by the RFID Military Compliance Solution. Avery Dennison Retail Information Services sells

Australia’s defense planners are currently contemplating the acquisition of new submarines to secure Australia’s defense capabilities into the second half of this century. It is likely, however, that these submarines will be bought for the wrong reason; they will be the wrong type; and with the wrong design.

The Wrong Reason – Australia’s current submarines, the Collins class, are a disaster. Of six commissioned, only one is currently operational. They were chosen for the wrong reason. Australia chose a long-range and multi-tasked boat, capable of assisting the US Navy in its Pacific Ocean operations. But this choice begs the question: should Australian defense dollars be spent to further American, or Australian national interests?

Since W.W.2, Australia’s obsequious support of US foreign policy has led to ignominious adventures in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the deaths of hundreds of Australian servicemen. Australia owes it to herself to purchase submarines which support Australian, rather than American interests. Australia’s national interests are increasingly separating from those of America, and are being drawn towards China.

China is Australia’s largest trading partner, and will soon be the world’s richest country. By the time the new submarines are fully operational (some time after 2030), China will rival the US as a military power,
